What are Intensive Plyometrics?

Perform HQ

Intensive plyometrics are maximal or near maximal plyometric exercises that are performed at higher intensity for short duration with a large amount of vertical displacement.

Some examples are depth jumps, repeat jumps and loaded jumps.

Β

Intensive plyometrics are highly neurally demanding and have a high impact on the body, so they should only be performed for a low volume and with plenty of rest in-between sets.

When programming for Intensive Plyometrics we are now looking to create power production, rate of force development, elasticity, stiffness, improved ground contact times as well as the stretch shortening cycle.
